Photoshop is probably the most advanced and versatile photo editing software package. If you are serious about photography and want to be able to do the most sophisticated post-production editing, then Photoshop will be an essential tool that will save you many hours of work. Photoshop CC is the most sophisticated version of Photoshop yet, and it adds several very useful features and enhancements to an already great creative environment. If you want to make the most out of Photoshop, as well as if you want to simplify your workflow, then it would behoove you to invest a bit of your time to familiarize yourself with as many subtleties and features of Photoshop as you can. However, if you are too busy (and who isn't these days), then you may not want to invest too much time in going through a long-winded book that takes you systematically through all of the aspects of Photoshop. If you just need to know very specific things that you need to know immediately, then "Photoshop CC on Demand" is an ideal book for you.
The book is essentially built out of many individual tasks, which are grouped in thematic units. These thematic units are essentially book chapters, although they are much more loosely organized. You don't have to go through chapters, or event the book, sequentially - you can focus on all the tasks that interest you at the moment, and each task is completely self-contained.
There is no prior knowledge necessary for reading this book, and even if you are an absolute beginner you will not feel intimidated with its content. However, there are many tasks and chapters that deal with the latest Photoshop features, and even people who use Photoshop professionally in their daily work stand to benefit from learning more about these by reading this book.
I downloaded the Photoshop CC On Demand Book from Que (for the Kindle) and not from Amazon so there may be slight differences in the eBooks, but I doubt it.
One of the many great things about Ebooks is the interactive quality you can utilize when your device is connected to your wifi and/or data.
I have read at least 4 of the On Demand Series for Adobe software and several of Steve Johnson and Perspection, Inc's books, both print and eBooks and find them remarkable in their readability and usage over time, for the life of the software and beyond.
Today, I actually prefer the eBooks because of their cross device capability, portability and mostly the aforementioned interactive abilities. This book is designed and laid out in a chronological, step-by-step manner, but as the links are all live, you can go anywhere within the book you please; from the Contents, the Index or sometimes even within the articles and topics and out of the book to actual websites. I do recommend downloading content to your computer and then installing what you need in your tablet, phone and/or ereader.
The design just cries out to be used as you wish; for newcomers to Photoshop CC there is an enormous amount of concise, easy to follow information on Photoshop itself from installations in both Macs and PCs (NEW) to how to use the tools and specifics such as layers and using the tools plus for Pros there is a full Chapter of what's NEW plus a link to Perspection's website with downloads to get there quickly. Every chapter (Topic) has everything new marked with the capitalized NEW. More downloads are available including workshops, media and the GREAT keyboard shortcuts! (You do have to register for do the extras).
