Book is outstanding reference. Has well developed bibliography for further reading. Outstanding for go-to text for citations in workers compensation cases or other work in occupational and environmental medicine.

Rom and Markowitz the editors and writers are at the very top of the field. The table of contents is of the extremely helpful detailed kind, a mini outline in itself. Is simply a great overview, at the same time in depth. Tells you what to read if you want to know more. Articles herein are cited in TONS of articles, so you do have to go to this epochal volume eventually, no matter where you begin. May as well begin here.
I am a liberal arts, law school type of person, and found the writing to be extremely readable and comprehensible, just the way any great writing should be, accessible to all levels of people (it is such a crutch when bad writers excuse themselves by blaming the complexity of their subjects).
The one suggestion for improvement: would be so great if it were on CD ROM, and I could just print chapters or articles from it and search for terms.
