I've been using Mixcraft 5 for over 6 months now, and more or less have been using it intuitively, without using the manual. I've viewed some tutorials on YouTube, but really wanted a text to solidify what I already know. Recently released, this guide is excellent because it takes a formal educational perspective; as if you were at a music school learning technology. As I don't have the time to attend a music college, this is the next best thing. The examples which you build give you a very strong grasp of the tools and technology in Mixcraft 5, which I agree is one of the most underated pieces of music software on the market. I have been using Making Music with GarageBand and Mixcraft with my Music Technology classes. I bought the Kindle version first and then the textbook edition. I like the book very much and my students have been enjoying the projects as well. The great thing about this book is that it is a MUSIC book first. While the students are learning how to use hardware and software, the primary focus is music. My students are learning about music through technology. In addition, there are many applications beyond the printed objectives of each lesson. In other words, they can apply what they learn to future musical projects.
