I bought this camera when it first came out. The Canon manual that came with the camera sucks...it only tells you about 10% of what you need to know to operate this camera. I ordered this book before it was published and I was soooooo glad when I got the Field Guide....If you think you can figure out the nuances of this camera by yourself you are nuts. I highly recommend this guide.....If you buy a T3 spend the extra $30.00 and buy this book ...you won't regret it...

Still working my way through the field guide. The guide is an easy read and most importantly easy to understand. Would recommend as an essential guide for the novice.
