Free Download Adobe Photoshop CS6 Bible
While I've used Photoshop for quite a few years (starting with a 0.97 beta, about a year before release of the first commercial version), there are always things to learn. Now with CS6, there are so many new features and changes to old ones I wanted a book to help with the transition.
Over the years, I've switched between the Missing Manual and the Bible series of books for basic info, and I have a copy of the CS5.5 Missing Manual for Photoshop. This time I went with the Photoshop CS6 Bible and find it a great resource. The Missing Manual books are good, but seem to miss specific features and help when trying to accomplish a specific task. This new edition of the Bible covers all the big bases and everything in between, very exhaustive. It won't teach you how to use Photoshop if you're a new user, but for anyone with a basic understanding of the software, it's an excellent reference, and very up to date.
I'm a bit surprised at Amazon's price on this book, however. I was able to order it from another large online bookshop for only $18.90 including 3-day delivery, and it arrived before my copy of PS 6 even arrived.

This book is not nearly as good as the Photoshop CS6 Missing Manual. The biggest fault is the illustrations. This book uses black and white graphics to illustrate before and after adjustments and edits of COLOR images. The illustrations are basically useless. That's right. All but a small section of the graphics in this 1100+ page book are black and white. The verbal descriptions in the text aren't much better. The Missing Manual is much more informative. Most of its illustrations are in color, i.e., all the illustrations describing color critical edits. It also has a better index and table of contents. The final fault with this book is that it's not Mac friendly. Other manuals offer keystrokes for both PCs and Macs. This one is PC centric.
